  2. I feel privileged, and for ever grateful, to have been so warmly welcomed into Betty’s home over fifty years ago. As an awkward teen come young adult, her reassuring smile and generosity made me feel so at home, I could have been another family member. Her good humour and patience at the escapades some of us embarked upon was, upon reflection, admirable. The measured way she inquired about what we were up to or informed us we had overstepped the mark was greatly appreciated. Betty’s warm smile will always be remembered. Betty was a super special person.

I only met Betty a few times but remember her as a friendly and warm person. Betty readily invited me to stay and showed me kind hospitality.
