Passed away peacefully at the Colac Hospital.
Dearly loved wife of Allan (dec). Loving mother and mother-in-law of Helen and Geoff Vagg, Carmel and Paul Thannhauser, Paul and Jane, David (dec), Shane and Nora. Loved grandmother “Oggs” to Tim and Josh; Matt, Brendan, Luke and Liz; Georgia; Maggie, Milly and Charlee, and their families. Great Oggs to 10 great-grandchildren.

Funeral notice
Requiem Mass for the repose of the soul of Mrs. Monica Catherine Matthews will be offered at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Gellibrand Street, Colac on Thursday, February 6, 2025 commencing at 11am.
The Funeral will leave the Church at the conclusion of Mass for the Colac Lawn Cemetery.
Vigil Prayers will be offered at the above church on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 commencing at 7pm.

Treasured daughter of Mary and Joseph Alexander Garner of Bullock Swamp Coragulac and only sister of Brian Garner. Brian would like to thank all the caring staff that took such wonderful care of Monica over her time at Barrongarook Gardens and a big thank you for all the condolences messages since her passing. I first met Monica whilst she was sitting outside the Supermarket. She was in for a chat and I ended up driving her home. I met her again at Barongarook Gardens and she was still in for a chat! Rest peacefully sweet Lady.

When I see this photo, I see Nana Garner.
I don’t have alot of memories, being the youngest grandchild. But I do remember Nana ironing, paying for our lunch orders and I think jelly?
