Today we gather in sorrowful array,
To honour a lady who brightened our way.
Nanna, your kindness, your warmth, your light,
Guided us gently through day and night. On a fair summer’s morn, you wert the sun,
your laughter like ripples when soft winds run.
In your garden, blossoms swayed 'neath your care,
The scent of roses perfumed the air.And on a winter’s eve, with hearth aglow,
your knitted mantles warded the snow.
With blankets well-spun, your hands did provide,
A haven of comfort where we could reside. Now you rest, yet your love does remain,
In memory eternal, your legacy’s chain.
We bear your wisdom, your mirth, your grace,
your spirit lives on in each warm embrace. In the rustling leaves, in the coo of the dove,
We’ll hear your voice and feel your love.
In blossoms’ bloom, 'neath morning’s dew,
whispers soft remembrance of you.So to you, dear Nanna, sweet mother, kind sister,
'Til we meet once more by heaven’s side,
Rest now in peace, your labours cease,
And greet Poppy in eternal release.November 28, 2024 1:07 am
Shirley was one of a beautiful, compassionate kind. Her positive endearing smile always drew you in. Shirley could calm you down and offer help to anyone in need. In her unique way she 'mothered' many 'families'.
Lonely is life without you.
All the world would be like Heaven, if we could have you back again.'Our family' chain is broken and nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.

Shirley had a pure heart and big smile for everyone. She became like a foster mum to so many of us. These little family poems echo those thoughts.
'Lonely is your home without YOU. Life to us is not the same.
ALL the world would be like heaven,if we could have YOU back again'.
Our family chain is broken.
And nothing seems the same.
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.
Sincere prayers for Shirley, Max & the dear family you created to carry on your legacy. From all the Vella family in Leopold, Geelong & Melbourne.November 23, 2024 10:35 pm
